Clothing giveaway

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Old Stage Road, Albrightsville, will begin their clothing give away this week. The days and times are as follows: Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you have questions, please call Shirley, 570-325-3523.

Jim Thorpe Community Watch will host its annual Halloween in the Park event for all Jim Thorpe children from 4 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park.

The event is designed to give the community the chance to have a family night out in the park.

There will be hayrides, face painting, pumpkin painting, crafts, games, food, a parade, finger painting and more.

All children will be given a bag to use for Trick or Treat night while supplies last.

The rain date is Sunday.

All residents interested in seeing the trick or treater's should turn their front porch lights on to leave the children know they will be handing out treats.

Members of the Jim Thorpe Area High School Class of 1965 are invited to attend a luncheon on Thursday at noon at Platz's Restaurant, Lehighton.

Rally Day

The Sunday school of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will resume on Sunday beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Class of 1964

Members of the Jim Thorpe High School class of 1964 will meet at noon on Wednesday at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. Reunion chairman, Ed Solomon, asks that the reunion committee members meet at 11 a.m.

This month's celebration theme will be Hawaiian shirt and dress day. Those attending are reminded to bring items for the food bank and prize box items. The flower vase will also be on the table.

Clothing giveaway

Two Jim Thorpe area Lutheran churches will begin their annual clothing collection and giveaways.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Albrightsville, has announced the following dates for collection of good, clean clothing and shoes: from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Friday, July 11, and Saturday, July 12; from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, July 13; and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, July 14, and Tuesday, July 15.

Class of 1964

Members of the graduating class of 1964, Jim Thorpe High School, will meet at noon Wednesday, March 26, at Trattoria's, Route 903, beginning at noon. Ed Solomon, reunion chairman, has requested that the committee members meet at least by 11:30 a.m. to go over some plans for the reunion.

Smoke detectors

Author to appearat Dimmick

Jeff Davis, author of "Nesting with the Loons" will be at the Dimmick Friends Book Store on Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. for a meet and greet.

A Jim Thorpe/Mauch Chunk native and graduate of LCCC, he is affiliated with Rainfire Publishing. His recently released novel is a humorous depiction of bureaucracy gone wild digging underneath the fingernails of the typical blue collar worker, and satirizing both modern day relationships and business life.

Class of 1964

Members of the 1964 graduating class of Jim Thorpe High School, will meet at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Platz's, Lehighton.

Members planning to attend are to wear their favorite football team jersey, as the theme this month is Super Bowl.

There will be no collection of canned items for the food pantries or the flower fund. Pat Pry McCormick will be in charge of the entertainment for the afternoon.
