The Black Diamond Writers' network will meet Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. Guest speaker will be Rick Grant. His topic will be social media outlets and their value to writers.
This will be a joint meeting with the Pennsylvania Women's Press Association.
The public is welcome to attend.

The Tamaqua Salvation Army will offer a free Thanksgiving dinner to all interested local residents. Dinner will be served, Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the community center, 105 W. Broad St.
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group will not have a meeting this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Last week's meeting was attended by 84 members. President Jean Yanick conducted the business session.
Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "The Christian Life." Secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld offered her weekly report. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Ann Seladones and Mildred Yanacek.
The Tamaqua Chapter of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) meets every Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m., in the Tamaqua Salvation Army Community Center, 105 W. Broad St. The meeting includes a short business session and a program.
An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on Nov. 18, from 1-6 p.m., at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St.
Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate.
This visit is being sponsored by Bittner's General Store.
SS. Peter and Paul
The choirs of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will rehearse on Wednesday. The Youth Choir will rehearse from 6-7 p.m., while the Adult Choir will rehearse from 7-8 p.m.
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Nov. 10 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 43 members in attendance. Chaplain Kathleen Valentine provided the invocation.
President Eleanor Schmerfeld conducted the business meeting and reports were presented by secretary Florina Martin and treasurer Shirley Becker. Military veteran members were honored. Readings were offered by Shirley Becker, Jean Machamer and Florina Martin.

Linda Hosler was presented the TOPS Loser of the Week Award at the Nov. 4 meeting. Maryanna Jupinia was named Loser of the Month for October. The business session was conducted by leader Bernie Kunkel.
