The weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. in the church rectory.
CCD registration
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, and St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, have scheduled CCD registration sessions for youths from those churches who attend Panther Valley School District schools. They are as follows:
Nesquehoning Girl Scout registration will take place on Monday, Aug. 30 from 6-7:30 p.m., in the Meed's Methodist Church on West Catawissa Street. There is a registration fee.
Citrano family reunion
The 16th Citrano Family Reunion of Nesquehoning was held at the New Columbus Fire Company on Aug. 21. Fifty people attended.
PV Knee Hi
The Panther Valley Knee-Hi regular monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. at The Sports Zoo in Lansford.
The Frances C. Jakabcin District of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Auxiliary will hold its fall meeting on Sunday, Sept. 19.
The event will be hosted by the Hazleton branches 45 and 105 and will be held in the Lobitz Catering Hall, Rt. 940, Hazleton, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Members of the St. Ann Society of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, and other local branch members who are planning to attend should call President Veronica Bazik, (570) 645-5253, to make reservations. The deadline is Friday, Sept. 3.

Zion Lutheran Church
Morning worship begins at 9 a.m. Sunday. Blessing of book bags will be held this week. All children are welcome to bring their school book bags to be blessed. The Rev. John Hazel is pastor, (570) 646-3469. Visitors are always welcome.
World Hunger boxes will be distributed on Sept. 5, Labor of Love Sunday. The boxes will be collected on Nov. 21, Christ the King Sunday.
St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, is in need of volunteers to help collate the newsletter. The session will take place on Sunday, Aug. 29, beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The worship service that day will take place at 10:30 a.m., during which time a blessing of book bags for all children going to school will take place. The Rev. John Hazel Jr., pastor, will officiate.
At 7 p.m. each Wednesday St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief evening prayer.
