"The Amazing Lehighton Race," sponsored by the Lehighton Downtown Initiative Committee, will be held in Lehighton on Sunday, Sept. 12, beginning at 10 a.m.
Todd P. Zimmerman, coordinator, said the LIDC is looking for teams of two to compete in this "mildly physical and mental competition."
The course will be a minimum of 3.5 miles in length with several stops along the way.
Each stop will give a clue to the next position.
A couple of the stations have mental and minor physical challenges that one of the members must complete.
Preliminaries for the Jim Thorpe Idol 6 competiton will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, in Jim Thorpe High School.
Jim Thorpe residents can particate and there are no are requirements.
The competition starts on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the high school. An admission fee is charged.
"The Switch" is charming, funny and thought-provoking, although you might not realize it from the movie's unimaginative title.

Blondie, a mainstay of the new wave music scene of the late 1970's that made it big on the pop charts, has survived beyond most of the bands from that movement.
The band fronted by singer Debbie Harry has been active in its latest phase since reforming in 1997 and is set to release a new album later this year, with the title "Panic of Girls."
